On week 5, I work on drawing the structure of the man's head.
At first it wasn't easy to capture the shape of a skinny, bone-like structure of a worn out fisherman, but as I kept working on it, I've manage to get a bit further then my usual style.
After, I start working on skin tones and colors for the man, especially with the part on lights traveling across his face.
As I had some discussions with my group about the Man's position in the boat, I decided to work on poses that the man would make while on the boat.
After working on the man character, I move on to work on the color of the dragon, as a water creature made of nothing but water, I've tried testing the idea of what color can be used to animate but I realize the choices I made later on would make it difficult for the animation process.
After working on the dragon, I start working on several different poses for the Woman as well as her facial expressions.
Aside from the woman, I kept working on drawing the head structure of the man and facial expressions on the dragon.
Lastly, I worked on some rough animatic test for the Man and the Dragon characters:
First rough animatic test : the Dragon's attack.
Second rough animatic test : the Dragon and the Man's movement.
Third rough animatic test : the Dragon's movement.
Forth rough animatic test : Dragon getting distracted.
Fifth rough animatic test : the Man throwing his spear.
Sixth rough animatic test : the spear's point of view.
Seventh rough animatic test : the Man's expression
After having a discussion with my group, I went straight to working on the whole rough animatic.
The first completed rough animatic.
After reviewing the video with my group, several changes were made for the rough animatic :
The second complete rough animatic.
This last rough animatic of the week was a combination of ideas between me and my group leader, Victor Zim.
