CT5CART Cartoon Animation : Slap and Star effect animation



Slap and Star Effect Animation :


First Test :




In the first test, cushions should be added when the character pulls in his arm, some of the frames for the slap needs to be removed, and lastly, the leg that stayed on the air and it's angle was not worked in the right way.



Second Test :




In the second test, cushions has been added and the leg angle has been fixed.

In the test, it seems to lack cushion, it may have been the spacing or it might be the way I've arrange the timing for it.

Weight Animation :


First Test : 





In the first test, the timing was too quick and the weight of the ball seemed less heavier then it should.


Second Test :




In the second test, the timing was done wrong and cushions need to be added.



Third Test :



In the third test, the timing has been fixed, more frames for the movements and cushions has been added.

Walking Animation with Eccentric Breakdown :




During process in working on the walking animation, the eccentric breakdown was slightly difficult to match with the keys and in-between as it was done by another artist but it was meant to be a new challenge to work on.

In the first test, the character needs more cushion as it stood up.

In the second test, cushion has been added when the character stands up.

Double Take test :


First Test : 






In the first test, the timing for the character wasn't timed properly, and the part where he shakes his' head was too long in length.



Second Test :



In the second test, the head shake and the timing had been fixed.

Pencil Test :




In this pencil test, the impact on the pencil against the ground was difficult to achieve along with the pencil's angle, but I hope now it looked natural in terms of it's impact and landing.

Mud Test :

First test :





In the first test, the angle of the splat wasn't angled right, and the mud seems not so muddy enough.

Second test :



In the second test, I fixed the splat angle, hoping the mud looked more mud-like, although the impact of it needs to be put into consideration.

Paper Test animation :



First Test :




In the paper test, I noticed the paper wasn't acting naturally as because it looked more like a descending flying carpet or it could have moved way too quickly and the way it looped twice might seemed very unnatural for a paper.

Water Splash Cycle :

First Test :



In the first test, the speed of the ripples were too fast and the last water drop that fell into the water dropped at the same time with the second last drop.


Second Test :



In the second test, the lighting after rendering the video didn't turn out well, and the last water drop is still the same and needs to be amended.


Third Test : 



In the third test, the water drop and ripples had been fixed, although the angle of the ripples need to be put into consideration.

Fire Cycle animation :


First Test :



In the first test, the fire was too stylized, seeming very unnatural.




Second Test :



In the second test, the fire seemed less stylized but still need some more improvements in terms of it's suppose natural bizarre movement.

Snow Cycle : 


First Test :



Although the snow seems to move downwards instead of going backwards, however it should have more snow drops going across the other snow.


Second Test :






In the second test, I added more snow drop traveling across the screen along with shaping the snow instead of having it in a round shape all the time.

My first time making a 2D traditional style cartoon animation with Dope Sheets.


Ball Pendulum Animation :




My first lesson in 2D cartoon animation working in a traditional way : paper and pencil. My first day in class is to understand the use of dope sheet and working out the timing with keys, breakdowns and in-between. It was very extraordinary for me as I never worked in this style before because all the while I worked on digital medias, having to work on them was very intriguing to me.
